A Car Gallery
Last updated: September 20, 2026
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how A Car Gallery collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our automotive social community, including our website, account features, and related services. It also explains the choices available to you.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account or use A Car Gallery, including:
- account and profile information, such as your email address, username, display name, profile photo, bio, and other profile details you choose to add;
- Garage and vehicle information, including vehicle details, modifications, build journals, photos, and videos;
- posts, comments, reactions, follows, saves, and other social activity;
- direct messages and related delivery information. Direct messages are private and are not displayed publicly;
- Marketplace listings and activity, business profiles and information, Club membership and participation, Event participation, and information you submit through those features;
- support requests and closed-beta feedback, including an optional screenshot, the page where feedback was sent, and a broad device category such as phone, tablet, or desktop; and
- other information you voluntarily submit to A Car Gallery.
We also collect limited service activity needed to operate, secure, and improve A Car Gallery. This can include session identifiers and coarse activity such as page, profile, listing, business, sponsored-content, search, filter, view, save, and click events. Our current product analytics are designed not to include direct-message contents, precise location, seller contact details, or full vehicle identification numbers.
3. Google Sign-In data
How A Car Gallery handles information received from Google
If you choose Continue with Google, A Car Gallery accesses only the basic account information you authorize through Google OAuth: your email address and basic profile information, such as your name and profile image. The requested permissions are userinfo.email and userinfo.profile, both of which are non-sensitive scopes.
A Car Gallery does not currently request sensitive or restricted Google OAuth scopes and does not access Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or other Google services through Google Sign-In.
We use this Google account information only to authenticate you, create or associate your A Car Gallery account, sign you in, and support your account and profile experience. It is stored with your A Car Gallery account using our authentication and database infrastructure. We do not sell Google Sign-In account data, provide it to advertisers, or use it for advertising. We share it only with infrastructure and service providers that help us operate authentication and the service, or when legally required as described below.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, maintain, and protect member accounts;
- operate profiles, the social feed, Garage and vehicle pages, posts, comments, and interactions;
- deliver direct messages and optional unread-message email reminders;
- operate Marketplace, Clubs, Events, business profiles, and business features;
- review content, enforce community rules, prevent abuse, and maintain service security;
- respond to support requests and closed-beta feedback;
- measure broad product, listing, business, and sponsored-content activity; and
- understand performance, troubleshoot problems, and improve A Car Gallery.
5. Public and private information
Information you intentionally publish may be visible to other members or the public. This can include public profile details, posts and comments, Garage and vehicle pages, public Clubs and Events, Marketplace listings, business profiles, and associated photos or videos. Consider what you choose to share before publishing it.
Private features are not displayed publicly. Direct messages are visible only to their participants and to authorized personnel when access is necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or service operation. Internal moderation records, private staff notes, and beta-feedback records are restricted according to their purpose and permissions.
6. Advertising and analytics
A Car Gallery currently supports contextual sponsored content in Marketplace. Contextual delivery uses what you are viewing at that moment, such as the Marketplace tab, search text, or filters you selected. It does not use your Google account information, Garage, follows, or past activity to target that content.
A personalized-ads preference is available in Settings and is off unless a member turns it on. Turning it on records the member's choice, but A Car Gallery does not currently use that setting to operate behavioral ad targeting. Advertisers do not receive raw private member information, direct messages, Google credentials, or Google Sign-In account data. Advertisers may receive aggregated performance information about their own sponsored content.
7. How we share information
We may share information in these limited circumstances:
- with infrastructure and service providers that host data, store media, provide authentication, deliver email, monitor reliability, or otherwise process information on our behalf to operate A Car Gallery;
- when you direct us to share information or intentionally publish it through a public feature;
- when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse or security issues, or enforce our rules; and
- in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.
We do not sell Google Sign-In account data or provide advertisers with users' Google account information.
8. Data storage and security
A Car Gallery uses hosted authentication, database, storage, email, and application infrastructure to provide the service. Uploaded media is kept in private storage and delivered through controlled links. We use access controls, row-level permissions, authenticated service functions, and other technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.
No online service can guarantee complete security. Members should use a strong, unique password and protect access to their Google or Apple account when those services are used to sign in.
9. Retention and account deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide A Car Gallery, protect the community, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and why it is needed.
Members can delete their A Car Gallery account through Settings. Account deletion removes the account and member-owned content tied to it, subject to the in-product deletion checks. Content created by other people is not removed. Limited records may be retained or detached from the account when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, moderation and audit integrity, or to protect other members. Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you may also be retained.
10. Your choices and rights
You can review and update profile and account information through A Car Gallery, control available email and advertising preferences in Settings, choose what you publish, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain personal information.
For privacy questions or requests, signed-in members can use Settings and choose Send Beta Feedback. Please use the subject “Privacy request” and do not include passwords or other sensitive information. If a request concerns account information, we may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
11. Children
A Car Gallery is for people who are at least 13 years old and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was submitted, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as A Car Gallery changes or as legal requirements evolve. The “Last updated” date above shows when this policy was last revised. When appropriate, we will provide additional notice of material changes through the service or another reasonable method.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, signed-in members can contact A Car Gallery through Settings → Send Beta Feedback using the subject “Privacy request.” This is the product's currently configured contact channel; A Car Gallery does not publish a separate privacy email address at this time.
